Conventions
- Spell out acronyms on the first use in an article or page, then use the acronym alone if a term is used multiple times. Be careful to avoid alphabet soup if too many acronyms are used in proximity to each other.
- Follow AP Style for terms that don't need to be spelled out on first usage (e.g., U.S.). Certain well-known automotive terms can also be used without being spelled out.
- Punctuate acronyms the same way you would if the words were spelled out. For example:
- “My EV's range is less than I'd hoped.”
- “EVs are the fastest-growing segment in the auto industry.”
- Use standard two-letter abbreviations for States (locations) in select components for forms and other patterns.
